Although sounding like a land from Tolkien’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ this Taste the Difference Morador Malbec is a decent enough drink without hitting any heights. It’s not your typical Malbec I’d say but If you like your red wine more on the fruity side with limited tannins then this might well hit the spot.
Taste the Difference Morador Malbec 2016
On the label it states that this is full bodied with intense black fruits soft velvety tannins. I sort of agree with that description apart from the intenseness. It’s definitely has a lot of bright black fruits, there’s some acidity and the tannins don’t intrude but it just lacks that punch you normally get from a top Malbec.
I opted for the traditional pairing with steak and chips and on the whole it went pretty well. Dare I say it, it’s easy drinking (not particularly fond of that description) but that’s kind of like what it was like. Nothing really to dislike and there are better Malbec’s to be had for a similar price but give it a go if you like a soft Fruity wine that delivers on most fronts just falling short of what a good rich Malbec should be.
NB: My wife who’s not a big red wine drinker really enjoyed it !
